In Statement B (August 21), Lapid tells Netanyahu he has a 'safety net of 24 fingers' (votes) for ANY hostage deal, without conditioning his support on it being a complete, final deal. This is a meaningful tension: Statement A explicitly rejects partial deals as insufficient, while Statement B offers unconditional political support for any deal that returns hostages home, effectively removing the 'final/complete deal' condition Lapid had set. The shift from 'only a final deal' to 'any deal, no conditions' represents a substantive change in his stated position.
