What changed
In Statement A (April 2025), Lapid claims he personally proposed attacking Iranian oil fields in October, and criticizes Netanyahu for being afraid and stopping the action — implying Netanyahu was wrong not to act on Lapid's proposal. In Statement B (June 2025), Lapid retweets approvingly a headline in which he is quoted saying 'Netanyahu was right: we should have gone to war against Iran,' effectively vindicating Netanyahu's judgment on Iran policy. These two positions are directly incompatible: one portrays Netanyahu as a coward who blocked the right course of action (Lapid's proposal), while the other credits Netanyahu with having been correct about going to war with Iran.
