What changed

In Statement B (December 2025), Lapid explicitly rejects a commission of inquiry proposed by Netanyahu and Kalnер, calling it a 'death certificate for the truth' and a politically predetermined body. Both statements concern the same specific matter — a state commission of inquiry into October 7 events and Netanyahu's conduct — yet in one Lapid invokes such a commission favorably and in the other he condemns it as illegitimate.
